I’m not much the Olympian,

just a steady walking man.

Athleticism does inspire

so I will look on and admire!

A Russian Opus

To the opera I once more

went and tragic story saw -

of naïve love and arrogance

and duel to end a fine romance.

Magnum Opus

The opera is so much fun.

Last night I saw a funny one.

A treatise on mens vanity

and questionable sanity.

Can you guess what it might be -

the op'ra that I went to see?

Something Different

The event, to my surprise

was in a field of massive size -

where, with a group, I 'circuit trained'

whilst luckily it never rained.

New active things I learnt to do  

using lots of muscles new!

Invitation

To an event I’ve been invited

and fair to say, I’m quite excited!

Endurance

Braving summer’s storms I stride

out across my countryside.

Whatever element I face

I keep a steady Walker pace!

Art & Nature

Armed with paint tubes, palette, brush

I leave behind the morning’s rush.

Once I find a spot serene

I stop, prepare and paint the scene.

Ambulant Eating

Today, with blue skies for my roof

I shall go dining “on-the-hoof.”

Torchlight

Olympic torch went I to see 
which somewhat disappointed me.

An entourage of liveried wheels

but modest sign of toes and heels!

Waiting & Hoping

Unseasonal precipitation

has much curtailed my ambulation.

So by fireside sitting reading

wait I, in hope of clouds receding.

R&R

Train, bus, plane times I’ve been scanning 
and journey to the west been planning.

Sunday Saunter

Yesterday I northward tripped

and twinkle-toes in Isis dipped.

Then the ducks and duckings fed
with little chunks from loaves bread.

“Why Quantum Physics?” You may ask.

Because a good friend set the task -

for Mr Walker to explain

Quantum what?

Quantum Physics, I’ve decided

isn’t meant to be derided,

a photon in its contra state

observed, can with its twin equate.

A quiet day.

Last night to Annie I did go,

an outing to a local show.

An evening capped with clapping loud

and cheers from many parents proud!

Sweeney Todd last night I saw,

a musical of blood and gore;

but youthful talent, energy,

was such inspiring work to see.

Today begins my Summer Walk
